Drake
is a Canadian actor and recording artist. In 2001, Graham began his
acting career, playing the role of Jimmy Brooks, a character on
Degrassi: The Next Generation. In the show, Brooks is a basketball star
who became physically disabled after he was shot by a classmate. His
role on the show ended in 2009, when producers cut the entire Degrassi
staff for a new group of actors. He originally became known for playing
character Jimmy Brooks on the TV series Degrassi: The Next Generation.
As a rapper, he performs under the mononym Drake. Drake continued to
recognize a close affiliation with Lil Wayne's Young Money
Entertainment, before officially signing with the record label in June
2009. His first studio album, Thank Me Later, is expected to be
released on the label in 2010.
The Used
is an American alternative rock band from Orem, Utah. Their sound has been classified under many sub-genres of rock. They signed with Reprise Records in late 2001 and rose to fame in June 2002 after releasing their debut self-titled album, The Used. They spent the entire year of 2008 working on their fourth studio album, which was released on August 31, 2009, called Artwork. The band has achieved both Gold and Platinum statuses in more than six countries worldwide.
Eminem is an American rapper, record producer and actor. Eminem quickly gained popularity in 1999 with his major-label debut album The Slim Shady LP, which won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. The following album, The Marshall Mathers LP, became the fastest-selling hip hop album in history. It brought Eminem increased popularity, including his own record label, Shady Records, and brought his group project D12 to mainstream recognition.
2NE1 (pronounced "to anyone" or "twenty-one") is a South Korean girl group created by YG Entertainment. First appearing in a Cyon commercial campaign with Big Bang for LG Telecom, their debut single "Fire" was released on May 6, 2009. The group was first mentioned by the press in late 2008, when rumours were spreading that YG was creating a female version of Big Bang named Sista. In response to those rumours, YG Entertainment President Yang Hyun Suk stated that the name was not chosen yet. In January 2009, it was announced that the "Female Big Bang" would debut around July 2009 with three members — CL, Park Bom, and Minzy.
